The Red Rock Scenic Byway is your Gateway to the world-famous Red Rock Country of Sedona, Arizona  just 110 miles north of Phoenix, about 40 miles south of Flagstaff, and only a few hours south of the Grand Canyon.


America's Byways provides a route connecting key cultural, historic, recreational and natural sites of interest within an area by way of two-lane roads. Learn more

To be the premier advocate for the Red Rock Scenic Byway, fostering a vibrant and sustainable community where the natural beauty, local businesses, and cultural attractions thrive, ensuring an unforgettable experience for all who travel SR 179.

As the National Voice of the Red Rock Scenic Byway (SR 179), we promote and preserve the beauty, businesses, and attractions along the Byway through sustainability messaging. Led by a dedicated leading members and sponsors, we are committed to amplifying the Byway community. RedRockScenicByway.org, is a  guide to its wonders.

BYWAY DESIGNATION & HISTORY

State Route (SR 179) has earned the All-American Road designation from the Federal Highway Administration due to its exceptional natural, recreational, and scenic features. The National Scenic Byways Program also acknowledges SR 179 as the Red Rock Scenic Byway, highlighting it as one of the top scenic routes in the country.
