Welcome to RedRockScenicByway.org, the official voice of the Red Rock Scenic Byway (SR 179). Led by a dedicated board of members and supported by our valued sponsors, we proudly represent the vibrant Byway community. 

State Route (SR) 179 has earned the All-American Road designation from the Federal Highway Administration due to its exceptional natural, recreational, and scenic features. The National Scenic Byways Program also acknowledges SR 179 as the Red Rock Scenic Byway, highlighting it as one of the top scenic routes in the country.

Our journey began as the original All-American Road Committee, which initiated a petition to obtain the All-American Road designation. A National Scenic Byway is recognized by the United States Department of Transportation for possessing one or more of six "intrinsic qualities": archaeological, cultural, historic, natural, recreational, and scenic.

• 1990s: Formed as the All-American Road Committee.
• 2000: Transitioned to Village Park Recreation, Inc.
• 2020-2024: Evolved into RedRockScenicByway.org.

With one of the original members still serving as President, we continue our mission to promote the beauty, businesses, and attractions along the Byway.
